Esperanto stamps on display

Tuesday, July 28th 2009 @ 8:05 PM    post viewed 1290 times

Roger Eggleton, a new member of the Newcastle Esperanto Club displayed his amazing collection of esperanto stamps and other philatelic items.

Roger is returing to Newcastle after a academic career in the US. He has published many papers in his field.

He is looking forward to the opportunity to meet other Esperantists in Australia. Up to now his main contact with other Esperantists has been through EBay and email while he built up his stamp collection.

My grandmother was an Esperantist - I am trying to learn. Recently a few my grandmothers postcards to Esperantists world wide have been sent to me and, as my husband collects stamps, we are fascinated by a LAER ESPERATNO! pr KORRESPONDANCE 1oKr. stamp with the green Esperanto stamp showing back view of a man sitting at a desk. We cannot find any reference to this stamp on line and thought Roger Eggleton may know WHAT COUNTRY THE STAMP (luftpost par avion postcard is dated 1948 Gojan kristnaskon bonan novjaron postcard). Would Roger, please, know? I could send him a scanned copy of the stamp.

Dankon,

Eleanor
