Dorj from Mongolia

Dorj decided to come to Australia in spite of missing the Summer School.

He stayed one night in the Central coast and then with Anthony at Manly.

His first day was spent sight-seeing on the coast.

I think the views of the Pacific ocean may have been unsettling for him as Mongolia is totally landlocked between Russia and China.

Next was the city of Sydney followed by the meeting at Esperanto House, where he gave some souvineers from Mongolia and gave a presentation about Mongolia and Esperanto there.

He said that in Mongolia they mostly eat 5 kinds of meat (Goat, Horse, Camel, Beef, Sheep), and no fish at all in the country side. Camel is only eaten in the Winter.

Speaking of winter, Dorj came from a country where it is now about -40C to Sydney where this week it reached +40C.

Esperantists are not only found in Ulaanbaatar, their capital, but also in the deserts of Mongolia.

So get ready for a most exciting time at the Asian Esperanto Congress which will be held in Ulaanbaatar in 2010.

I am glad that Dorj was still able to come to Australia.  I remember at the Summer School we were worried when he didn't turn up.  I am also glad that you all had such a good time with him.

Amike,

Diano
